Al Capone
This is the famous Al or "Scareface" Capone. He was the king of bootlegging, gambling, prostitution, and racketeering. He ran Chicago like a business. At one point he had $60 million from bootlegging. He was the hardest person to put into prison since he had bribed so many police, judges, businesses, and legal systems. It wasn't until 1931 that he was sent to Alcatraz where he spent 11 years.
Al Capone in Alcatraz
This is a picture of Al Capone and his trainer in the Alcatraz prison. The cells in Alcatraz were pretty nice for a highly guarded prison where they kept only the worst of the worst criminals. He spent about 11 years in that prison before he was released in November of 1939. He probably spent a lot of the time with his trainer because there wasn't anything else for them to do but listen to the radio in their cell. After he got out of Alcatraz, he died in his home with his family in 1947.
